As the latest Guillermo del Toro title, Pacific Rim, opens in theaters this evening, Reliance Games has released the companion Android gaming app to the Google Play Store. The game puts players in the role of the Jaeger pilots, commanding the giant robots as they battle against waves of monsters known as Kaiju.

Pacific Rim has two modes, story mode and survival mode. In story mode, the player fights through over 30 levels inspired by the movie. In survival mode, you engage in a flat out fight for survival as the Kaiju keep coming at you. Five Jaegers are available for players to choose from and these can be upgraded with new weapons, armor, power and speed. Reliance Games indicates the game includes Jaegers and Kaiju “not fully revealed” in the movie.
